About Tarneeb
Tarneeb (طرنيب, "trump") is a four-player partnership card game played all over the Middle East. You sit opposite your partner Lina, and Sami and Omar play against you. Everyone gets 13 cards, and players bid how many of the 13 tricks their team will win, from 7 up to 13. The highest bidder chooses the tarneeb suit and leads the first trick.
In each trick everyone plays one card and must follow the suit that was led if they can. The highest tarneeb wins, or the highest card of the suit led if no tarneeb was played. If the bidding team makes its bid it scores the tricks it won; if it fails, it loses the bid and the other team scores their tricks. Winning all 13 tricks scores 16, or 26 if you bid 13.
The cards you are allowed to play glow, and hints suggest a bid, a trump suit and a card while you learn. Play to 31, 41 or 61 points against easy or smart computer players.
