About Word Detective
Word Detective is a word guessing game for children. A secret word is hiding, and you have six tries to find it. Type a real word and the tiles change colour: green means the letter is in the right place, yellow means it is in the word but somewhere else, and grey means it is not in the word at all. Use what you learn to make a better guess.
Pick Cub cases with 3 letter words, Junior cases with 4 letters or Chief cases with 5. Every secret word is a word children know, like cat, frog or zebra, and a robot detective checked that each one can be found in six guesses. Stuck? Ask for a picture clue, a word clue or one letter, but each clue costs a star.
Solved words go into your clue album, stars move you up from Rookie to Master Detective and unlock new colours, and there is a new daily case every day to build a streak. There is a blue and orange colour set for players who find green and yellow hard to tell apart, and an A B C keyboard for younger children.
