About Word Comets 3D
Word Comets 3D turns typing practice into space defence. Comets fly out of deep space towards your station, each carrying a word. Type its first letter and your laser locks on; type the rest and the comet explodes. If a comet gets through, you lose a heart. It works with the big keys on the screen or with a real keyboard, where it is best practice.
Twelve lessons follow a typing course: first just F and J (the keys with the little bumps), then A S D F, the rest of the home row, and a few new keys each lesson until every letter, then long words and a comet storm. The keys for each lesson are lit up and the words only use those keys. Zap every comet while hitting the right keys 90% of the time for three stars; coins buy extra shields, slow motion and laser colours.
With red-green, red-blue or red-cyan 3D glasses the comets come from deep inside the screen and fly out at you; it plays in colour without them. Words come from a list of common English words with anything unsuitable for children removed, and robot typists of different speeds check that each lesson is fair.
