About Village Bank
Village Bank turns banking into a week-by-week game. Animal villagers ask to borrow money for bikes, bakery ovens and market stalls, and each request shows how much they want, how much extra they will pay back as interest, and a trust rating from one to five stars based on how well they have paid back before.
The big lesson is risk and reward: low-rated borrowers promise lots of interest but often cannot pay at all, so over many loans they lose money, while trusted borrowers earn steady interest. Later seasons add savers, who keep their money in the bank and earn a little interest each week, and the bank can lend that money out, which is how real banks make a profit.
But savers can take their money out at any time, so a good banker keeps a reserve of cash, and festival week brings a rush of withdrawals. If the vault runs dry the bank fails. Seasons were tuned by simulating careful, reckless and timid bankers, so careful banking usually reaches the goal and stars build up your bank with upgrades.
