About Turtle Draw
Turtle Draw is a coding game about shapes. The turtle carries a pen: Forward walks and draws a line, Left and Right turn it on the spot, and Repeat does a group of blocks again and again. Build a program from blocks, press Run, and watch the turtle draw. Your job is to draw exactly the dotted shape.
It starts with lines, corners and squares using 90 degree turns, then teaches loops, then new angles: 120 degree turns make triangles, 60 make hexagons, 72 make pentagons and 144 make a star. The last world has loops inside loops and Jump blocks for flowers, windmills and rosettes. It is the turtle idea from the Logo language that has taught children geometry for years.
Every shape shows the turtle's best number of blocks, checked by a computer that searched all shorter programs, and matching it gives three stars, so loops really pay off. Stars unlock new pens (rainbow and gold too) and turtle shells, and after nine shapes the drawing studio opens for drawing anything you like.
