About Tune Detective
Tune Detective turns ear training into a mystery. A famous tune plays, with each note shown as a circle that lights up as it sounds, but one note is wrong. Listen carefully and tap the note that sounds out of place. On the first cases you can press Hear it right to compare with the real tune.
Once you have found the culprit, fix it: tap the bars of the xylophone to try notes, and the game tells you if your note is too high or too low. Other cases have a missing note shown as a dashed circle, two sneaky notes in one tune, tiny one-step slips, and faster tunes. When a case is solved, the tune plays the right way and every note shows its name and colour.
The tunes are well-loved songs from long ago: Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Row Row Row Your Boat, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Ode to Joy, Frère Jacques, London Bridge, Au Clair de la Lune, Old MacDonald and Jingle Bells. Solve each case with no slips for three stars, and stars unlock instruments from bells to a boingy spring. It builds pitch hearing and note names.
