About Time Dig 3D
Time Dig 3D turns a history lesson into a treasure hunt. Each dig site is a grid of squares, and every tap digs one layer deeper. The layers of soil are bands of time: the deeper you dig, the further back you go, just as real archaeologists find older things lower down. Coloured labels show which layer is which: today, Victorian times, the Middle Ages, the Vikings, the Romans, Ancient Egypt and the Stone Age.
Treasures are hidden in the layers and you only have so many digs. The trick is to watch the walls of your holes: when a treasure is buried next door, it glints in the wall at its own depth, so you know exactly where to dig next. Seven sites, from a back garden to a desert tomb and an Ice Age cave, hold 21 treasures: a Victorian pocket watch, a Viking sword, a Roman coin, an Egyptian scarab, a mammoth tooth and more. After each dig, put your finds in order, oldest first, for the museum; every treasure is kept in your museum with a fact about it.
With red-green, red-blue or red-cyan 3D glasses the holes really sink down into the screen and you can see the stripes of soil in their walls; it plays in colour without them. A checking script plays thousands of digs on every site to make sure that following the glints always finds every treasure in time, while digging at random usually does not.
