About Sort Bot 3D
Sort Bot 3D teaches how computers make decisions. Each job is a sentence like 'Balls go LEFT. Everything else goes RIGHT.' You build the robot's program from rules: IF a toy is a ball, THEN send it LEFT; ELSE send it RIGHT. Press Run and all 18 kinds of toy (three shapes, two sizes, three patterns) roll down the conveyor belt one after another while the rule being used lights up.
The big idea is that the robot checks the rules from the top and the first one that fits wins, just like real code. The 'Order matters' job shows why: if 'small toys go LEFT' comes before 'balls go RIGHT', the small balls end up in the wrong bin. Later jobs add AND (IF big AND ball) and puzzles that need three rules in exactly the right order. When a toy lands in the wrong bin, the game says which rule sent it there, so children learn to debug. Right on the first run earns three stars.
With red-green, red-blue or red-cyan 3D glasses the belt runs deep into the screen and the toys roll out towards you; shapes and patterns, not colours, decide where toys go, so it works fully with the glasses on. A checking script tries every possible program for each job to make sure it can be solved, needs exactly the number of rules allowed, and cannot be passed by a shortcut.
