About Snakes and Ladders
Snakes and Ladders began in India hundreds of years ago as Moksha Patam, where the ladders stood for good deeds and the snakes for bad ones. Today it is one of the first board games many children learn, and it is great practice for counting along a number line from 1 to 100.
Roll the die and move that many squares. Land at the bottom of a ladder and climb up; land on a snake's head and slide down to its tail. Roll a 6 to roll again, and land exactly on 100 to win: roll too much and you bounce back.
Turn on Brain Mode for a quick question at every ladder and snake: counting and small sums for ages 4 to 6, adding, taking away and easy times tables for 6 to 8, or times tables and division for 8 and up. Answer right to climb the ladder or escape the snake! Win games against the computer to unlock the Ocean, Space and Candy boards and more animal tokens.
Best for ages 4+
