About Sleep Quest
Sleep Quest teaches children why sleep matters and how to get enough of it. A cast of sleepy animal friends each need help: how much sleep does a 9-year-old need? Which bedtime gives Bruno the bear enough sleep if he wakes at 7 am? The amounts follow the guidance of sleep doctors: 10 to 13 hours for ages 3 to 5, 9 to 12 hours for ages 6 to 12, and 8 to 10 hours for teenagers.
Bedtime maths means counting back from wake-up time, and working out how long someone slept means counting the hours to midnight and the hours after it. The wind-down lessons ask you to pick three calm things for the hour before bed, like a warm bath, a book or dim lights, instead of video games, cola or a scary film, and every choice comes with the reason.
True-or-myth rounds explain that sleep helps you grow, remember what you learned and fight off germs, that screens in bed make it harder to sleep, and that a long lie-in does not fully make up for short nights. When a friend sleeps well they wake up bouncing with energy, and stars fill a jar with dreams to collect.
