About Shape Lab 3D
Shape Lab 3D teaches the 3D shapes from school maths by letting kids hold them. Each shape spins on the screen and you drag it to turn it any way you like. To count, tap the faces (they get painted and numbered), the edges or the corners, and turn on See-through to check the back. Then pick the answer. It covers cubes, cuboids, prisms, pyramids, the tetrahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron: 14 shapes in all.
With red-green 3D glasses each shape floats right out of the screen: the game draws it twice from two eyes a little apart, one picture in red and one in green, and each lens hides one of them so your brain sees real depth. It plays in full colour without glasses too. The How 3D works page explains stereo vision.
There are 12 levels of 6 questions: count it, name it, which real thing has this shape (a dice, a tent, a pencil, a diamond crystal), and from level 8 Euler's rule, Faces + Vertices - Edges = 2, which works for every shape in the lab. Right answers earn crystals for new shape colours, and every shape you meet goes into your Gallery with its facts. A checking script confirms every shape's numbers and every question's answer.
