About Puppy School
Puppy School shows how dogs really learn: by rewarding the behaviour you want, right when it happens. Your puppy does all sorts of things, sitting, jumping, barking and sniffing, and when it does the trick you are teaching you tap the treat button straight away. Each well-timed treat makes that trick more likely, and a progress bar shows how well your puppy knows it.
Timing and focus matter. Treat the puppy for jumping or barking and it learns to do those more instead, and a treat that comes too late hardly counts. The stay lesson turns it around: you must wait until the puppy has stayed still long enough, because a treat too early teaches it to get up quickly. Leave it teaches the puppy to look away from food on the floor, which keeps real dogs safe.
Later lessons have faster, more excited puppies with more distractions. The game reminds families that real training uses the same kind, reward-based ideas, short happy sessions and no punishment, and to ask a grown-up and a trainer for help with a real dog. Lessons were tuned by simulating careful, slower, treat-everything and random trainers.
