About Pet Talk
Pet Talk teaches children to read animal body language, which helps them stay safe and be kind around pets. A cartoon dog or cat shows how it feels with its whole body: a happy dog's loose wiggle and wagging tail, the play bow that means let's play, a tucked tail and flat ears when it is scared, a stiff body and showing teeth as a warning, or a cat's tail held up like a flag to say hello.
Choose how the pet feels, and after each answer the game explains exactly which signs to look for. Later lessons ask what you should do: ask the owner and let a friendly dog sniff your hand, throw a ball for a playful one, give a scared pet space, stand still and back away slowly from a cross one, and let a sleeping pet sleep. Wrong choices like hugging a dog or pulling a tail are always there to think about.
The eight lessons start with dogs, then cats, then what to do, then dogs and cats mixed, and finally Quiet signs, where there are no growls, hisses or purrs written on the picture and you have to read the body alone. Get every pet right first time for three stars, and stars unlock new coat colours for the pets.
