About Molecule Maker
Molecule Maker is a chemistry puzzle game. Everything around you is made of atoms joined together into molecules, and each kind of atom can make a set number of bonds: hydrogen 1, oxygen 2, nitrogen 3 and carbon 4. Tap the atom buttons to put atoms on the board, tap two atoms to join them, and tap again to make a double or triple bond. When every atom has exactly the right number of bonds and they are all joined into one molecule, you have built it.
There are 30 levels in 6 chapters, from hydrogen and water to carbon chains, everyday molecules like formaldehyde and methanol, and isomer hunts. Isomers are molecules made of the same atoms in different shapes, like ethanol and dimethyl ether, or butane and isobutane. In the isomer levels you have to find every shape. In Chemist mode the little dots that show free bonds are hidden, so you have to count them yourself.
Every molecule you build goes into your album with a real fact about it, from the gas cows burp to the rocket fuel spacecraft use. A robot tried every possible way to bond the atoms of every level, rings included, to make sure each level lists every molecule those atoms can make, so there is never a hidden extra answer. Wrong checks and hints cost a star.
