Pyramid Builders

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Each turn is one season of the Egyptian year: ๐ŸŒŠ Flood, ๐ŸŒฑ Growing and ๐ŸŒพ Harvest.
  2. In the flood the fields are under water, so lots of farmers come to build. In the growing and harvest seasons most of them are busy on their farms, so you have fewer teams.
  3. Give each team a job with + and โˆ’: โ›๏ธ Quarry cuts blocks, ๐Ÿ›ท Haul pulls them up the ramp, ๐Ÿงฑ Build lays them on the pyramid, ๐Ÿž Bake makes bread.
  4. Every team eats one bread each season. Teams with no bread go home hungry and do no work, except bakers: they always work. Harvest bread is doubled, because the grain is fresh.
  5. The higher the pyramid, the longer the ramp, so hauling gets slower near the top.
  6. Some pyramids need granite from Aswan, far up the Nile. Boats can only sail it down in the flood.
  7. Finish before the pharaoh's reign ends. Fewer seasons earn more stars. Stars earn deben (copper) for better tools in the Workshop.
  8. Each season starts with the foreman's plan. It is sensible, but a clever builder can beat it: that is how you get โญโญโญ. ๐Ÿ’ก Foreman's plan puts it back if you change your mind.
