Globe Explorer 3D

Do you have 3D glasses? Red-green, red-blue and red-cyan glasses all work.
You can change this any time from the menu.

Check the 3D

How deep?

Less depth is easier on the eyes. More depth pops out more.

1. Hide the green bar

Put the glasses on and cover the eye behind the green lens, so you look only through the red lens. Slide left until the green bar disappears.

2. Hide the red bar

Now cover the eye behind the red lens, so you look only through the green lens. Slide left until the red bar disappears.
3D mode is just a fun way to play. If your eyes feel tired, take a break or play without glasses.

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Drag the globe to spin it. โฌ†๏ธ North up turns it back so the North Pole is at the top.
  2. Each trip asks 6 questions. Find the place and tap it: a continent, an ocean, a pole, the equator, or a half of the world.
  3. The equator is the imaginary line round the middle of the Earth. Everything above it is the Northern Hemisphere and everything below is the Southern Hemisphere.
  4. No mistakes gets โญโญโญ. Every place you find the first time stamps your passport.
  5. ๐Ÿ”ญ Explore freely: tap anywhere to see what is there and its latitude and longitude, the two numbers that give every place on Earth an address.

HOW 3D WORKS

  1. Try this: look at your finger with one eye, then the other. It jumps! Your brain uses the jump between your two eyes to judge distance: stereo vision.
  2. The game draws the globe twice, from two eyes a little apart, in red and in green (or blue). The glasses give each eye its own picture, so the middle of the globe bulges out towards you.
  3. Why a globe? The Earth is round, so every flat map has to stretch it. On most flat maps Greenland looks as big as Africa, but Africa is about 14 times bigger! A globe shows the true shapes and sizes.
  4. Latitude says how far north or south a place is (0ยฐ at the equator, 90ยฐ at the poles). Longitude says how far east or west it is from a line through Greenwich in London.
