Do you have 3D glasses? Red-green, red-blue and red-cyan glasses all work.
You can change this any time from the menu.

How deep?

Less depth is easier on the eyes. More depth pops out more.

1. Hide the green bar

Put the glasses on and cover the eye behind the green lens, so you look only through the red lens. Slide left until the green bar disappears.

2. Hide the red bar

Now cover the eye behind the red lens, so you look only through the green lens. Slide left until the red bar disappears.
3D mode is just a fun way to play. If your eyes feel tired, take a break or play without glasses.

HOW TO PLAY

  1. Put your finger anywhere and slide it: your paddle moves the same way, so your finger never hides the ball. On a computer, use the arrow keys or W A S D, and Space to throw.
  2. Tap to throw the ball into the box. It bounces off the walls and the bricks, then comes back at you.
  3. Watch the glowing frame that slides along the walls: it shows how deep the ball is. When it reaches the front, the ball reaches your paddle.
  4. Where the ball hits your paddle steers it: hit it with the edge to send it sideways.
  5. Plain bricks break in one hit. Bricks with rings need more hits. Grey metal bricks never break, so go around them. Gold ⭐ bricks drop a power-up: catch it with your paddle!
  6. Miss the ball and you lose a ❀️. Break every brick to win. No misses gets ⭐⭐⭐.
  7. Coins buy new paddles and upgrades. Beat level 10 to open Endless mode.

HOW 3D WORKS

  1. Try this: hold a pencil out in front of you and try to touch its tip with another pencil, first with both eyes open, then with one eye shut. With one eye it is much harder!
  2. That is because your two eyes see from two places about 6 cm apart. Your brain compares the two pictures to work out how far away things are. This is called stereo vision.
  3. Bounce Box draws the box twice, from two cameras a little apart: one picture in red for one eye and one in green for the other.
  4. The red lens blocks green light and the green lens blocks red light, so each eye only sees its own picture, and your brain joins them into one 3D box.
  5. Your paddle is drawn in the same place in both pictures, so it sits on the screen. The bricks at the back are drawn a little apart, so they look deep inside. A ball that gets past you pops out of the screen!
  6. Without glasses your brain still guesses depth from size: far things look small. That is why the ball shrinks as it flies away.
