About College Cost Quest
College Cost Quest is about one of the biggest money decisions a family makes: paying for college. Each turn is a year. Choose a college by its real price after grants, not its sticker price, decide whether to live at home or in a dorm, pick how many hours to work at a part-time job, and spend your energy on scholarship applications, where big prizes are harder to win and good grades help.
Every choice has a trade-off. A job pays, but too many hours lower your GPA, can lose you a merit scholarship and may mean a summer class to catch up. Any money you are short becomes a loan that grows by 6% every year. After graduation you earn a salary and choose how much to pay back, and surprise bills go on a credit card at 20% if you have no savings.
Seven chapters teach one idea each: sticker shock, the scholarship hunt, work and study, the cost of borrowing, paying it down, the smarter community college path, and the whole quest together. Your score is freedom money: savings minus everything you owe. At the end, a chart compares your path with other choices, and you keep a money wisdom card. All prices are made up and simplified.
