About Beat Lab
Beat Lab is a music game about rhythm. In Copy the Beat you listen to a short drum pattern and build the same one on a grid: each row is a drum, like Boom, Crack, Clap, Tss and Ding, and each column is a moment in time. Press Check and any wrong square is marked, so you can listen again and fix it. The 30 levels start with one drum on four beats and end with five drums.
In Read and Tap you read real rhythm notes, the way many music classes teach them: ta is one beat, ti-ti is two quick notes in one beat, a rest is a beat of quiet and ta-a lasts two beats. After a count of four, tap the big drum on every note. Hear it first if you like. A robot checked that careful tapping always passes and random tapping does not.
The Beat Studio is for making your own two-bar beats at any speed, and your beat is saved for next time. Stars from the levels unlock new sound kits: 8-bit, Jungle, Space, Kitchen and Robot. Every sound is made right in the browser.
